About the Battle of the Bands

Who’s the top band, rapper or singer-songwriter in town? Here’s your chance to have your say.
We made a list of 64 of the top local artists and split them into four brackets to duke it out the way teams do in the NCAA basketball tournament.

Here’s how to vote:

  • Click on each act’s name to visit its Web site and hear its music.

  • Click VOTE on each matchup, then select the act you want to move on to the next round.

  • You can only vote once for each band matchup in each round. And yes, registration is required, but relatively painless.

  • You can also vote via text messaging, once per matchup per round. Text BATTLE to 25430, and the reply will walk you through the process.
 

SCHEDULE

  • Round 1 begins Feb. 18 and ends Feb. 25 at noon.

  • Round 2 (32 bands left) begins Feb. 26 and ends March 3 at noon.

  • Round 3 (the sweet 16) begins March 4 and ends March 10 at noon.

  • Round 4 (the elite eight) begins March 11 and ends March 17 at noon.

  • Round 5 (the final four) begins March 18 and ends March 20 at noon

  • The championship matchup begins March 20 in the late afternoon and ends March 25 at noon.
    We'll crown a winner after that.

What do the winners get? Braggin’ rights. Lots and lots of braggin’ rights.
Last year’s winner, the Dirty Dialect Click, goes into the Battle Hall of Fame. Who will join them?Make your voice heard by voting.
