Apparently, life does have something to offer us once we've outgrown Saturday nights on the S4 dance floor: spending Saturday mornings hauling the kids to their soccer games.

Think we're crazy?
Texas ranks seventh in the nation for highest percentage of gay couples raising children. Among metropolitan areas, our own Fort Worth-Arlington area is fifth. Houston was right above them. And San Antonio actually took the crown. (Dallas didn't make the top 10.)
Jack and Ennis may have felt compelled to have their offspring with decoy wives, but – thank God –the times have changed.
Need further proof?
Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered parents and their little ones are expected to descend upon us next week when Big D plays host to Act OUT, the national LGBT family conference.
The conference is part of Family Pride's "Real Families, Real Facts" campaign. The conference is offering up myriad advocacy, education and support opportunities for families headed by same-sex couples.
Some sessions are designed specifically for children of same-sex couples. And there's even going to be a family Halloween party and dance.
The conference at the Fairmont Hotel is Oct. 27-29. You can register online at www.familypride.org.
Oh, and if you want to know more about that study, it's in the Gay and Lesbian Atlas. Other fun facts: Oak Lawn ranks eighth nationally among neighborhoods with the highest concentration of gay male couples. And Texas is third in the nation with same-sex households.
Who knew?
Ian and Brandon will get around to deciding whether or not to have children once they're done raising themselves. E-mail them at imccann@quickdfw.com and bformby@quickdfw.com.
