After the Sunset Too bland to be awful, this heist yarn about two
thieving lovers and an FBI agent playing cat and mouse on a Caribbean
island is your standard pre-holiday fare, the definition of a throwaway
movie. Starring Pierce Brosnan, Salma Hayek and Woody Harrelson. PG-13.

Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason This unnecessary sequel to
Bridget Jones's Diary brings back all the same characters with all the
same conflicts. Bridget is still defiantly outspoken, Mark is still
stuffy and Daniel's still a conceited jerk. The plotting, particularly a
Thailand episode, is haphazard, but Renée Zellweger is once again a
charming Bridget. Also starring Colin Firth and Hugh Grant. R. In wide
release. 107 min.

Enduring Love Despite sensitive direction and solid performances,
this loose adaptation of Ian McEwan's widely praised novel never really
connects with the viewer. The film begins with a stunningly staged
hot-air balloon tragedy and tells of the event's strange effect on those
who tried vainly to help. Starring Rhys Ifans, Daniel Craig and Samantha
Morton. R. At the Dallas and Plano Angelikas. 100 min.
