Frisco city officials have lifted an evacuation order initiated while firefighters battled a four-alarm blaze at a manufacturing company Sunday.
9200 block of Hutson Drive in Frisco
A passerby called 911 after noticing smoke coming from the building Sunday morning shortly after 8:30 a.m. at Hutson Industries located in the 9200 block of Hutson Drive. About 50 homes within a quarter mile of the fire were evacuated as a precautionary measure after the blaze started, according to a city news release.
Firefighters arrived to find flames in the attic of the 20,000-square foot building.
Crews are working defensively to protect two storage buildings that house small amount of chemicals used to manufacture semi-conductor chips, officials said. The chemical storage buildings remain untouched by the fire.
Crews worked throughout the afternoon to keep the fire contained. It was reported under control about 3:20 p.m. The cause of the fire is unknown.
Frisco police went door to door to evacuate the homes in the area, and Central Fire Station at 8601 Gary Burns Drive was used as a temporary shelter.
