Police investigating shooting death of driver on Stemmons near Royal

Dallas police detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man early Saturday on a highway in northwest Dallas, police said.
Mahmoud Zadeyeh was driving southbound in the 11400 block of North Stemmons Freeway near Royal Lane around 2:45 a.m. when people from a nearby car shot at him, according to police reports.
A bullet struck Mr. Zadeyeh of Mesquite, 28, in the head, and he died at the scene. Another bullet hit his passenger, Rafi Bajwa of Carrolton, 32, in his right hand, police reports stated. Doctors operated on Mr. Bajwa’s hand on Saturday, and he was expected to survive.
Police said the people who shot at Mr. Zadeyeh’s car fled from the scene. A description of their vehicle wasn’t available.
