Family and friends remembered Nick Davis, a Wylie High School senior who was killed Friday morning in a motorcycle accident, as a fun-loving and “goofy” teen who was dedicated to his church. Davis, 19, of Sachse died after he lost control of a sports bike he was riding in the school’s parking lot shortly before 9 a.m. and crashed into some parked cars. Witnesses said Davis, who was wearing a helmet, appeared to be doing stunts on the motorcycle before the accident, police said. His father, Todd Davis, said his son was an avid motorcycle rider, but he had borrowed the sports bike from a friend and was not used to riding it. The teen’s girlfriend, Amy Dunlap, 19, said Davis was always very cautious when she rode on his bike with him. “He wouldn’t ever do anything to upset me,” said Dunlap, who did not witness the crash. On Friday afternoon, family and friends gathered at Victory Church in Parker to remember the teen, who was involved with the church’s children’s programming. “He hung people's Christmas lights. He mowed everyone’s yard. He was nonstop,” said Vicki Masters, a church member. Todd Davis said his son planned to join the U.S. Marines in August. “Nobody is promised tomorrow,” Todd Davis said. “We don’t know when it’s our time, but we have to be ready, and Nick was ready.” Wylie High student killed in motorcycle accident remembered as fun-loving teen
