As president of the United States Conference of Mayors, Miami Mayor Manny Diaz wrote in a letter that he's appointing Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert chairman of the organization's metro economics committee.
In his capacity, Mr. Leppert will act as the group's chief lobbyist to the federal government on issues such as improving infrastructure, job growth and education.
