Three people were injured, at least one critically, in an apparent “road rage” accident shortly before noon Friday on U.S. Highway 75 in Anna.
Police are looking for the driver who caused the pileup, a man driving a reddish-orange four-door pickup with Florida or Georgia plates that read, in part, TC6.
Witnesses said the pickup was driving in both lanes and cut in front of other cars to pass north of FM455. One driver crashed into a parked vehicle and a third car swerved to avoid the pickup and left the road, striking a Texas Department of Transportation employee working on the roadside.
The injured worker was airlifted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas and was listed in critical but stable condition Friday afternoon. Both drivers were taken to Medical Center of McKinney in undetermined condition.
The pickup that caused the chain reaction apparently was not damaged.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident or who has information about the pickup driver to call 972-924-2848 or 972-547-5350.
