Best bets for Wednesday
1. CIGARETTES AND RED VINES If you didn't get that reference, you're not a huge Aimee Mann fan. Which is OK. You can't be blamed for not being familiar with one of the most skilled pop songwriters and smooth vocalists of our time. It's the radio's fault for not playing her more. 7 p.m. House of Blues, 2200 N. Lamar St. $23.50 to $55.50. Ticketmaster, 214-373-8000.
2. SLAP HAPPY We always loved that scene from Moonstruck in which a very feisty Cher slaps the unshaven face of Nicolas Cage twice and says, "Snap out of it!" Classic film moment right there – one you can see outdoors on a big screen. It's being shown as part of Victory Park's Get Reel Summer Movie Series. 7:30 p.m. AT&T Plaza, 3090 Olive St. Free. victoryparktheatre.com.
3. BRING THE BEATS Why is the dance show Stomp playing everywhere all the time? Because it's just so dang fun! There are a lot of people in this world with no rhythm at all, so it's nice to see a whole gaggle of performers who can create such musical magic with only their feet and a few props. 8 p.m. Fair Park Music Hall, 909 First Ave. $11 to $71. Ticketmaster, 214-373-8000.
4. A NEW CHAPTER His old band SouthFM might not be around anymore, but Paco Estrada is still chuggin' along and making intense rock that fans seem to love. He'll turn in a solo set at
10 p.m. at Gezellig, 2010-C Greenville Ave. Cover TBA. 214-826-1700.
5. WHAT'S ON THE TUBE? Well, there's not much to watch. It is summer and all. So, while we're not exactly recommending Celebrity Circus , it might help kill the hour before the news comes on. We hear that The Brady Bunch's Christopher Knight tries something called "fire clowning" on tonight's episode. 9 p.m. on Channel 5.
