David Hopkins is on a mission that should bring him plenty of good karma.
Hopkins, the Arlington-based writer of the upcoming graphic novels Astronaut Dad and Kar- ma Incorporated, is in- volved in a book tour to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Hopkins is signing and selling copies of his work, which also includes Emily Edison, as well as original art donated by his collaborators. The tour stops at Zeus Toys & Comics in Dallas this afternoon at 4, and he'll be at Dan's Silverleaf in Denton on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
Hopkins got the idea after meeting a young fan with cystic fibrosis. He said she and her mother were handing out roses at the Dallas Comic Con to raise awareness.
The tour's first stop, a Hastings store in Round Rock, raised a little more than $100. But Hopkins has high hopes for this week.
"Dallas has been good for me in the past," he said in an e-mail, "so I'm expecting the majority of the money to be raised locally."
