MIAMI – Discussions about Terence Newman's injured foot are a daily occurrence with the Cowboys.

Updates on the progress of Jacques Reeves, Newman's replacement at cornerback, are also discussed daily.

It seems hardly anybody mentions Anthony Henry.

Sunday afternoon at Dolphin Stadium, Henry made a few people remember that he's the other starting cornerback, making two interceptions in the Cowboys' victory over Miami.

"He played his tail off," free safety Keith Davis said. "He made the plays he's supposed to make. Henry is the forgotten one. Anytime he gets beat, the people are talking about Henry has lost a step, he's this and that. But I know Henry, and I know he'll show up every Sunday, and I love the way he plays."

Henry has five multi-interception games in his career, but Sunday marked his first since he signed with the Cowboys as a free agent in 2005. It was also the first time a Cowboys' player had two interceptions in a game since Aaron Glenn did it in 2005.

The defense had four interceptions and forced five turnovers.

"It was important for us to play the way we did," Henry said. "The most important thing for me is to come out with the win. The secondary played real well."

Henry's interceptions came at important times.

On Miami's second possession, quarterback Trent Green made a poor throw to Marty Booker. Henry had inside position on the receiver and intercepted the pass with 14:53 to go in the second quarter.

The second interception sealed the victory.

Miami was trailing, 23-13, in the fourth quarter and driving. Faced with a first-and-10 at the Miami 49, Green was out of the shotgun and fired a low ball toward Chris Chambers.

Henry slid down and made the interception with 5:44 to play.

"It's a timing thing," Green said. "You're trying to put it in a spot that gives him the best opportunity to have a reception, and sometimes that timing isn't quite there."

Henry wasn't finished with his performance.

After the Dolphins cut the deficit to 30-20 late in the fourth quarter, Henry was on the field to prepare for the onside kick. Jay Feeley's kick bounced high, and Henry and Chambers jumped for it. Henry grabbed it before slamming down to the field with 3:26 to play.

"Yeah, I got stuffed pretty hard," Henry said of recovering the onside kick.

It was a special day for Henry, who got 25 tickets for family and friends from his hometown of Fort Myers, Fla., which is two hours from the stadium.

Henry said he was hurrying out of the stadium to greet some of them.

It was, in some ways, a well deserved day for him to be with his family.

"I'm ecstatic," Newman said of Henry. "I've been telling him he's the most underrated corner in the league and he doesn't get a lot of respect."
